Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Registering patients and entering demographics into computer including insurance information.
- Verify Benefits at each visit
- Answering and transferring phone calls to the appropriate person. Taking detailed messages.
- Record all calls into EMR and routes to appropriate person.
- Collect co-pays at time of service and balance cash box and deposits daily.
- Make reminder phone calls to all patients scheduled for next day.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Filing and organizational skills. Good telephone etiquette. Courteous and caring attitude and mannerisms. Knowledge of medical insurance. Typing speed of 35 WPM.
- Must be able to understand policies, procedures and regulations, examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Take responsibility and work under pressure.
- Communicate effectively and work with others.
- Effective Customer Service skills.
- Multi-task.
