LHH is partnering with a leading engineering firm headquartered in Louisville, CO to find a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their finance department. Responsibilities:
- Prepare invoices for various project types including Cost Reimbursable (CP), Time and Materials (T&M), and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) projects.
- Review invoices and accompanying documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts receivable by sending monthly statements to customers, following up on overdue balances, and escalating collection efforts as needed to Project Managers or the Controller.
- Resolve billing discrepancies or disputes by liaising with clients and other stakeholders.
- Maintain thorough and precise billing records and reports.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries regarding invoicing.
- Support audit processes by providing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Identify and propose updates to accounting procedures and processes.
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable, resolving any discrepancies encountered.
- Review contracts to ascertain billing instructions for various contract types (Cost Reimbursable, Firm Fixed Price, Time & Material).
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate revenue recognition and preparation of customer invoices, adhering to contractual requirements, including submission of invoices through designated customer payment systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounts receivable and billing experience required.
- Experience in a similar industry (engineering, construction, or professional services) preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
