Contracts Specialist x 2
Compensation: $55 to $60/hour.
Location: Oakland, CA (fully onsite)
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise departments on contracting strategies, procurement options, and industry standards.
- Act as a consultant to management on contract policies and administration.
- Prepare and issue solicitation packages, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and federal guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of Board submissions for contract awards.
- Monitor contractor performance and manage contract closeout procedures.
- Address and resolve contract-related disputes, claims, and protests.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date contract files, both physical and electronic, and track key milestones such as contract expiration dates.
- Prepare weekly reports and correspondence related to contract activity, including performance evaluations, insurance documentation, vendor checks, and more.
- Ensure confidentiality in all contract-related work.
- Keep procurement processes audit-ready.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field, with a focus on procurement.
- At least two years of responsible experience in procurement, with a strong emphasis on contract preparation, evaluation, and administration.
- Valid California driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
- Bilingual skills in American Sign Language (ASL), Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, or Spanish are a plus.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
