Fiscal Manager

Our client seeks a skilled professional to oversee and manage complex accounting activities, including the preparation and monitoring of the biennial budget and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Employment Type: Direct hire

Location & Worksite:

• Tukwila, WA
• Hybrid (in-office 2 days a week)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and monitor the biennial budget and CAFR
• Perform complex accounting and financial activities while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls
• Lead and mentor a small team
• Prepare detailed financial reports, including monthly budget-to-actual reports, quarterly updates for senior leadership, and the multi-year financial plan
• Oversee automated and technology systems, including identifying and implementing upgrades
• Provide guidance and training to staff, evaluate performance, and prioritize projects

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5 years of experience in budgeting and CAFR preparation
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and Budgeting, Accounting, and Reporting Systems (BARS)
• Proficient in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, formulas) and financial software
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences

Preferred:

• CPA
• 1 year of supervisory experience
