LHH is recruiting for a contract to hire HR Generalist for one of our Canonsburg, PA clients. This position can pay $25-$28/hr. based on expereince. Must be willing to commute daily as this postion is 100% onsite. Expereince with HRIS System Implementation a plus!
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level to support the Human Resources department and team members. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, leave management, and home office recruiting.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Partners with management to communicate and interpret Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws for employees.
Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations to team members and management.
Prepares all FMLA and Leave of Absence paperwork and communicates with the employee and management regarding all leaves of absence.
Assists employees with disability insurance claims and works with managers across the organization to ensure proper procedures are followed regarding return to work. Partners with payroll for timely payment of approved claims.
Handles employee relation issues in a timely manner in accordance with policy, local, state, and federal law.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Assists with annual Open Enrollment activities and is well versed in our benefit package.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Assists with various research projects and/or special projects.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.
Three years of HR experience, including one year of employee relations and recruitment experience required.
Retail, restaurant, quick service experience preferred.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Understanding of federal, state and local legislation as it applies to human resources and the employment process required.
Experience working with a HRIS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced excel skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to work processes and employee information.
High attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams.
Ability to travel when needed to complete employee relations investigations when needed.
Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
