LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

This role involves verifying and processing payroll transactions, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and labor laws. Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Manage and execute payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Payroll System Maintenance: Maintain and update payroll systems with employee information such as new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and tax withholdings.
- Compliance: Ensure payroll is compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations, including tax laws and labor standards.
- Deductions and Contributions: Process deductions such as health benefits, retirement contributions, and garnishments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare payroll reports for management, including earnings, taxes, and deductions, and assist with audit preparation.
- Issue Resolution: Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues related to employee compensation, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Year-End Tasks: Assist in the preparation of year-end tax forms (W-2, W-3, etc.) and support other fiscal year-end activities.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly payroll reconciliations to ensure alignment between payroll, accounting records, and bank accounts.
- Process Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations and increase efficiency.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll accounting or related financial roles.
- Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, QuickBooks), Microsoft Excel, and accounting software.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing payroll data and financial records.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with employees, management, and external auditors.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Adaptability to changing payroll regulations and procedures
