Property Accountant
Job Description:
LHH is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our clientin San Rafael, CA. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our property portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely accounting and reporting. This is a full-time, direct-hire position that requires onsite work in San Rafael. The successful candidate must have a degree in accounting and a minimum of 2 years of experience with strong month-end closing and bank reconciliation skills. Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements for multiple properties.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closings.
Reconcile bank accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting for property operations.
Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
Collaborate with property managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and support audits.
Stay updated on accounting standards and best practices in the property management industry.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Property Accountant or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive salary range: $70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.
