Job Description – Membership Coordinator

Compensation: $1500/ month plus commission

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic, energetic and charismatic Membership Coordinator to enhance and grow our unified member-based organization and visitor center. The mission of the Chamber is to promote a favorable business climate for our membership and provide leadership to improve the economy and quality of life in the Liberty County Area. The Chamber is an active and highly respected organization with approximately 500 members. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, personable, articulate with excellent communication, computer and writing skills. We believe the membership is the lifeblood of our organization requiring an individual who can relate to members and businesses of all sizes. This person is comfortable in large and small group settings while effective on a one to one basis. Especially important is the ability to relate to and understand the needs of the members and prospective members. This position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week depending on work load and events.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform some receptionist duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner
• Answer visitor and member questions in a positive and welcoming manner
• Record all calls and visitor/member contacts on a sales log provided by the Chamber
• Answer any email messages in a prompt and professional manner
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning duties as set forth by the Chamber
• Implement membership programs
• Continually seek out new members, while maintaining contact with our current members
• Meet monthly goal for new membership
• Assist in event planning and implementation
• Marketing the Chamber through sales and retention of members
• Have a working knowledge of the functions of a Chamber
• Other duties as assigned

Additional requirements:

• Must have a driver’s license
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to bend, twist, stand up to 2 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
