What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist II position at Liberty Hospital?
SUMMARY: Responsible for blood collection procedures, daily computer operations, answering telephone, directing phone calls and maintaining inventory of in-stock supplies. Assists with processing send out testing and pathology specimens. Primary training resource for new phlebotomy staff members. Ability to monitor phlebotomy status and work directly with other phlebotomists to maintain collection turnaround time expectations. Demonstrates leadership abilities and advanced problem-solving skills. Ability to assist Phlebotomy Supervisor in providing overall direction of workflow for phlebotomy staff. Ensure all procedures are being utilized and followed appropriately. Ability to answer questions when Phlebotomy Supervisor is unavailable. Ability to communicate concerns/needs to Phlebotomy Supervisor. Assist Phlebotomy Supervisor with areas of improvement in workflow and/or organization.
Required Education/Training: High School diploma/GED
Required Experience: One (1) year phlebotomy experience at Liberty Hospital
Required Licensure/Certification/Registration: Nationally Registered Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NRCPT) (NAHP), Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) (AMT); Certified Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) (ASCP); Certified Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) (ASCP); OR National Phlebotomy Solutions - Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NPSCPT)
Preferred Education/Training: Diploma from accredited phlebotomy training program; Associates degree in a related life science
