Job Summary
The Director of Skier Services is responsible for driving innovation and enhancing the guest and team member experience across multiple departments at Liberty Mountain, including Ski and Snowboard School, Guest Services, Rental, Retail, Ticket Scanning, Golf, Golf Sales, and Tubing. The role focuses on leadership and team development, strong business acumen in sales, revenue, expense oversight, and forecasting, capital project coordination, communication, and guest interaction for safety performance. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director contributes to the development, communication, and implementation of company and resort goals and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead the Skier Services departments, products and staff to ensure exceptional guest & employee experience, alignment with resort and company goals, financial success, and development of future products/programs.
- Lead an interdependent safety culture through strong leadership, out-front decision making and a supportive and caring approach to change management.
- Stay current on guest and employee health and safety regulations, including but not limited to- MSDS standards, universal precautions, child abuse guidelines, background checks, emergency action planning procedures.
- Work with managers, supervisors, and team leads to ensure accountability for the quality of products and services for the guests and employees.
- Drive year-round visitation through a strong partnership with our national sales and revenue management teams.
- As a producer of talent, this role will provide candid feedback, growth opportunities, leadership opportunities, and appropriate training and accountability to develop resort leadership team.
- Help create and implement training plans and monitor the quality of training.
- Actively seek information about industry trends and remain involved with professional organizations.
- Work with other all applicable best practice programs including, but not limited to, program offerings, safety initiatives, and resource efficiencies.
- Monitor and maintain quality and appearance of buildings, sales facilities - both on mountain and at the base area, organizational yard, signage and program imaging, teaching terrain, and locker rooms.
- Act as a Vail Resorts representative with the local community.
- Champion a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years in multi-function leadership
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new technology and other information systems
- Data driven decision making skills
- Project management skills
- Change management including being an agent and champion of change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
The expected pay range is $82,800 annual bonus equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
