Position Summary:
The Registered Dietician/Nutritionist is responsible for providing quality services to diverse clients and their families through appropriate clinical competencies and practices, effective communication and transdisciplinary teaming. This person will focus on evaluating and treating children/clients from Birth to 3 years for a wide range of nutritional and dietary needs and dietary concerns that families may have. Clients will include children on the Autism spectrum and children with failure to thrive.
Job Responsibilities:
Is proactive in maintaining a caseload, with a minimum of 6 billable units per week, and providing services as authorized to clients.
Monitors client treatment goals and implements therapy plans effectively during sessions.
Collaborates with colleagues on shared cases on at least monthly basis as evidence by documentation in treatment notes.
Attends and participates in ongoing staff in-services and mandatory quarterly meetings.
Establishes and maintains a rapport with clients/family members/caregivers and co-workers as well as provides weekly education and training as appropriate.
Collaborates with discipline team at meetings, through email, phone calls or other means regularly to assist with professional development.
Completes reports and submits to required recipients within specified due dates provided by respective supervisor.
Effectively communicates and works with related agencies, community members, clients, families and co-workers.
Attends continuing education workshops to stay abreast on professional practices and provides documentation of attendance. Minimum expectations for each discipline can be found in the POST P & P manual.
Promotes diversity and demonstrates respect and appreciation for co-workers and customers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health nutrition, Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition or similar from accredited institution.
Clinical experience required. Minimum of 1 year clinical experience for clinical disciplines, in a pediatric setting or 1 year of conditional employment under mentorship of licensed discipline specific clinician. Clinical fellowships will also be considered.
Effectively communicate via phone, e-mail, in public, and in large groups.
New York State Professional License (Dietician)
Certificate of Competence or registration from national accreditation organization.
Valid Driver’s license.
