Job Summary:
Liberty Superstores is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill our Human Resources Director position. As the Human Resources Director, you will work as a team with our Department Directors and lead HR initiatives that align with Liberty’s overall goals and objectives. This position is responsible for managing all Human Resources functions including but not limited to employee relations, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, benefits management, and safety management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist department directors and managers with recruitment efforts by advertising current open positions and performing preliminary reviews of applicants.
- Drive recruitment efforts through alternative efforts such as managing the development of apprenticeship programs and collaborating with department directors and managers to achieve department goals.
- Submits all paperwork to run background checks and motor vehicle reports on all potential new hires and determines if they are eligible for hire.
- Ensures all employee onboarding and offboarding tasks are completed such as new hire reporting, new hire paperwork, termination paperwork, and submitting all necessary documentation to our Accounting Department.
- Manage new hire orientation—scheduling, organizing, and reviewing policies and benefits with all new hires.
- Assist with overseeing and resolving employee issues and/or concerns by maintaining an open-door policy and communicating with department directors and managers on any issues that may arise.
- Assist our Accounting Department with tracking paid leave using our HR system.
- Manage employee benefits, track FMLA, ensure new hire benefit enrollments are completed and processed on time, coordinate annual benefit open enrollment, review annual renewals with leadership, and communicate any potential benefit changes and/or improvements.
- Lead employee engagement and recognition efforts, such as employee birthdays, anniversaries, Employee Appreciation Day, etc.
- Track and review employee evaluations to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and are up to date.
- Maintain the employee Trail Guide and Safety Guide; assist with reviewing policies periodically and adjusting them on an as needed basis.
- Serve on the Safety Committee, assist with relaying important safety information, process worker’s compensation claims, coordinate safety meetings, and collaborate with leadership on addressing any safety concerns that may arise.
- Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources or related experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is highly desired.
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification is desired.
