Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Emergency Action Planning, Development, and Implementation.
2. Evaluate and make recommendations on all emergency management organization and procedures.
3. Provide support and project management for assigned emergency management projects.
4. Assist in scheduling, coordination, and documentation of all emergency management training.
5. Provide Instruction to the Liberty University Community about emergency preparedness.
6. Continuously evaluate and update all Liberty University emergency action plans in accordance with established guidelines.
7. Prepare a variety of reports related to the Liberty University All Hazard Emergency Management Program.
8. Participate in table-top and functional exercises to test effectiveness of emergency action plans as appropriate.
9. Promote the All Hazard Emergency Management Program through outreach and presentations.
10. Other functions and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Emergency Management Planner Lead, the Director of Emergency Management & Community Engagement, Executive Director or the Vice President of Security & Public Safety.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
Be at least 21 years old.
Current first aid and CPR certifications.
A minimum of two (2) years in emergency services, public safety, or emergency management.
Ability to work under considerable pressure and stress in emergency situations.
Ability to research, write and administer grants.
Certified in National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) or can obtain certification within one (1) year of appointment.
Certified in Incident Command System (ICS) or can obtain certification within one (1) year of appointment.
Possess certification in IS 100, IS 200, IS 700, IS 800 or can obtain certification within six (6) months of employment.
Possess certification in or can obtain ICS 300, ICS 400 within one (1) year of employment.
A clear and solid record of performance.
Have no convictions for felonies or crimes of moral turpitude.
Have no recent or prolonged use of Marijuana.
Have no possession of any illegal drugs such as cocaine, heroin, LSD, etc.
Be able to pass random drug testing to maintain employment.
Does not smoke or use any tobacco products.
Possess excellent written, verbal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Maintain a calm demeanor when dealing with the public.
Basic knowledge of emergency response and management, risk assessment and mitigation.
Basic knowledge in policy implementation and interpretation for CEMP and COOP
