The Interactive Senior Staff Engineer is primarily responsible for overall strategy while also developing software for each platform and product they support and will approve code created by other engineers. This role will partner with Product, Product Design, stakeholders, and other engineers to offer guidance on best practices, ensure that tasks are well thought out and documented and that the team has the same technical strategy. The Senior Staff Engineer utilizes their skills to deliver technical outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church's mission and to reach people for Christ.

The Interactive Team leverages technology to reach people worldwide, connecting them to our ministry and each other through our website, apps, and all Life.Church locations. What You'll Do
  • Develop organizational software by using the appropriate tools and techniques for each platform in span of care.
  • Collaborate across teams and disciplines to solve problems and resolve technical debates.
  • Recognized as a technical expert, exhibiting high quality/quantity of hands-on technical contributions.
  • Evaluate the complexity of tasks and provide realistic estimates on level of effort and completion time.
  • Oversee contractors, vendors, and/or volunteers who are working within the domain of Life.Church products.
  • Provide support to other Interactive engineers through code and architectural reviews.
  • Aid larger team and leadership in identifying areas we’re thriving and opportunities to improve.
  • Stays aware of changes around the organization to anticipate and prevent obstacles from hindering team performance.
  • Create and evangelize best practices to ensure engineering team.
  • Provide technical support on escalated software issues.
  • Research industry best practices and new technologies or tools that could be implemented at Life.Church.

  • Maintain a systematic and organized approach to completing assignments accurately, thoroughly, and timely.
  • Clearly explain complicated and detailed processes in a concise and simple way.
  • Ability to self-motivate, take initiative, make independent decisions, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently.
  • Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations.
  • Own technical design for projects and understand and articulate the tradeoffs in creating high-quality software.
