Position Summary: Life Link III’s Communication Center Specialist emphasizes customer focus, safety, and excellence in their approach to realizing Life Link III’s mission and values. The Communication Specialist reports to the Communication Center Manager and works out of our Bloomington, MN and Blaine, MN offices. 
 
This role is on the front line in providing safe and effective air medical transport.  The Communication Center Specialist receives all incoming telephone, radio and digital notification requests for service and information. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while still able to demonstrate effective communication skills in a stressful situation, portraying a calm manner and work as part of a team to coordinate patient transport requests. Communication Center Specialists work closely with the Operations Control Specialists, medical staff, community partners, and administration to ensure transports are completed in a professional and efficient manner. Must be able to remain in a stationery position 75% of the time.
 
 Position Highlights:
  • Receives all incoming telephone and radio requests for service.
  • Activates all Life Link III assets for assistance to requests for response.
  • Maintains communication and tracking of Life Link III assets.
  • Maintains communication with requesting facilities/agencies.
  • Coordinates pre-planned medical transport requests with requesting facilities and necessary support agencies.
  • Maintains accurate electronic record of aircraft maintenance and flight personnel.
  • Participates in committees, public relations functions, and educational opportunities.
  • Responsible for presenting a professional and courteous demeanor on the telephone and radio.
  • Initiate and coordinate Post Accident Incident Plans and emergency plans as needed.
  • Participates in committees, public relations functions, staff meetings, performance improvement processes and education opportunities.
  • Monitor multiple technology sources to ensure transport crew and patient safety with an eye for safety and risk management, personal responsibility, compliance, and discipline.
  • Maintain a working relationship with customers, internal and external, through the entirety of the patient transport process via consistency, reliability, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Maintain a high standard of performance with unwavering commitment to quality and operational practices leading the industry in best practices.
  • Maintains ethical and authentic in work practices and job tasks doing what is best for the patient and our customers through process efficiency, organizational efficiency, and accountability.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of practice and process to meet the evolving healthcare environment.
What We Are Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • EMS or Communication Center experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Must be computer literate and be able to learn utilization of software programs including typing 35 wpm.
  • Must be able to remain stationery 75% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • General geographic knowledge of 5 state area
  • Aviation and medical terminology preferred.
  • Licensure: EMT or EMD experience preferred
  • Two-year degree in related field preferred.

Where We Are Located:  This opportunity will work out of our Bloomington, MN and Blaine, MN location. This position is scheduled for nights (6pm-6am). All positions are 12-hour shifts.

Compliance/HIPAA: Must perform work in the manner prescribed by documented work process in order to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations, accreditation standards and laws that apply, specifically work processes that involve billing practices, for avoiding activities that constitute fraud and abuse.
