Position Summary

The Sales Assistant Manager assist the Department Head in the overall direction, coordination and supervision of the Sales Department. They ensure Membership Advisors achieve or exceed monthly goals as well as assists in maintaining the Sales Department business plans and marketing strategies to increase membership sales and Life Time Fitness products and services. The Sales Assistant Manager oversees the coaching of Membership Advisors to initiate, develop and maintain personalized relationships with each Life Time Fitness member.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service to club members by assisting with member account concerns or club policy and procedure issues 
• Assists with promoting membership sales within the community by attending community and corporate functions  
• Sell memberships by motivating prospective members to begin workout programs that will help them attain their fitness goals while using Life Time Fitness programs, products, and services 
• Assists the Department Head in organizing and implementing calling parties to increase lead generation 
• Establishes monthly revenue and unit goals for Membership Advisors
• Prepares sales department budget information to discuss with General Manager
• Assists with assessing individual performance, providing feedback, and employee recognition programs and awards  
• Mentors advisors through role-playing, shadowing club tours, and standard operating procedures giving them tools to improve and develop stronger sales and customer service skills    
• Oversees recruiting and interviewing for the sales department as well as processing new hire paperwork, payroll and staff scheduling

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 to 2 years of experience in sales
• 6 months of management experience
• CPR and AED certified within 30 days of hire
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Siebel
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or a related field
