MEDICAL BILLING SPECIALIST, Elyria OH
Essential Functions:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to healthcare billing and reimbursement
- Adhere to policies and procedures that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle
- Work with other departments and teams, such as operations, to ensure that all revenue-related processes are integrated and functioning smoothly
- Work with a team of billing and coding professionals to ensure that daily workflows are not disrupted Communicate with payers and insurance companies to resolve billing and reimbursement issues
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of HCPC, ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, HIPAA guidelines, insurance carriers, Medicare/Medicaid
- Adhere to policies and procedures within the organization
- Monitor/assess performance of self
- Demonstrate excellence in critical thinking, communication, and conflict resolution Must be able to work in a group setting
Education and Experience
- Healthcare revenue cycle management, 1 year experience preferred
- Certification in Medical Billing and Coding, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing and reimbursement regulations and compliance Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Working Environment
- Typical office environment
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time Computer use, monitors, keyboards, etc
