Job Summary:

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager is a critical role within the LifeMoves Human Resource Team that will research, develop, and execute creative & data-driven DEI strategies and programs that align with the agency’s values and strategy. Most notably, you will be implementing initiatives impacting how we attract, engage, hire, retain and develop talent in order to foster a culture that ensures equity and celebrates inclusion. This role will also steward and iterate current initiatives, including administering the Employee Resource Group (ERG) program and serving as the staff liaison to the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Committee.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead DEI initiatives aligned with the organization's mission, values, and strategic goals
    • Oversee the implementation of DEI programs with measurable results
    • Develop plans to address identified gaps in DEI efforts
    • Collaborate with HR to develop initiatives that foster a welcoming and respectful workforce
    • Advise HR on employee survey design and in responding to employee concerns related to DEI
  • Manage DEI consultants and trainings
    • Serve as a liaison to current DEI consultants and trainers
    • Research,recommend,and oversee the execution of DEI-related trainings and consultant engagements
    • Manage event planning and project management for DEI-related activities
  • Oversee employee resource groups (ERGs)
    • Serve as the administrator of agency's ERG program
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between ERGs and leadership
    • Support ERGs in advancing their goals and initiatives
  • Address compliance and reporting requirements
    • Regularly participate in compliance and reporting requests
    • Prepare and respond to audits and EEOC requirements
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant diversity-related laws and regulations
  • Conduct ongoing DEI research
    • Gather and analyze demographic data from internal and external sources
    • Identify trends and patterns related to diversity,equity,and inclusion
    • Evaluate the organization's progress towards DEI goals
    • Utilize data-driven insights to recommend strategies for enhancing DEI efforts
  • Communicate progress on DEI initiatives
    • Prepare and disseminate written and verbal communications on DEI initiatives and progress
    • Partner with marketing to develop DEI-related communications content
    • Ensure that DEI communications are accessible, informative, and inclusive
    • Promote DEI awareness and education across the organization
  • Provide DEI thought leadership
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in DEI in order to provide thought leadership on industry best practices and DEI strategies
    • Research and analyze diversity-related legislation and advancements in DEI
    • Expand community engagement through partnering with external organizations,community groups,and institutions
  • Provide training and policy updates
    • Train colleagues on DEI-related topics,including unconscious bias and cultural competency
    • Provide updates on DEI policies and procedures to ensure compliance
    • Promote understanding and implementation of DEI policies and practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of DEI best practices and emerging trends
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws and regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Bilingual skills a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Social Work or related field encouraged
  • Five years of Human Resources or related experience with at least three years specializing in diversity equity and inclusion programs encouraged
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification a plus
  • Proven track record of leading and managing DEI initiatives
  • Knowledgeof homelessnessand housinginsecurity related issues a plus
