Under the supervision of Lifespan Supply Chain Leadership - Manager Supply Chain Logistics is responsible for planning directing coordinating and controlling all operational processes of supply chain operations for Lifespan facilities. Operational standards must provide a high-level of customer service and operational support to the caregivers and departments Supply Chain supports across all Lifespan facilities.
Responsibilities: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates and maintains quality assurance and practice standards in accordance with established system policies procedures and objectives. Recognizes or anticipates problems and works to address and solve issues immediately. Development of effective budgeting and utilization of resources - people financial material and equipment - to achieve agreed upon goals and objectives. Ensures activities support Lifespan strategies while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Establishes processes to ensure uninterrupted supply of equipment and supplies to support Supply Chain operations. Effectively and continually communicates with customers and manages staff to facilitate the flow of operations. Facilitates continuous performance improvement by encouraging innovation and measuring results. According to the area oversees any combination of the following duties: counting organizing ordering delivery picking pick-up decontamination packaging put away inspection and/or receiving of equipment and supplies. �Creates maintains and improves processes and rules with respect to par levels reorder points package size unit of measure and reorder quantities to maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries meeting customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and transportation expense. Oversight of the storage and control of supplies and equipment in all locations. Creates maintains and improves processes to maintain stock within managed areas in a clean and orderly manner including storage rooms and systems overall organization shelves bins carts and clear and correct labels. Interacts with suppliers or directs team members to coordinate delivery and/or vendor returns. �Supervises and establishes procedures for completing and valuing the year-end physical inventory. Directs the physical and subsequent financial requirements for obsolete expired and damaged inventory to maintain the accurate and realistic valuation of goods-on-hand. Monitors maintenance of perpetual inventory system to ensure a high degree of accuracy. Implements inventory management processes and principles including rotation of stock utilizing dated material policy and/or FIFO (first in first out). Manages optimization processes - cycle counts stock audits discrepancies reconciliation. Collaborates with caregivers and stakeholders to ensure appropriate systems and procedures to provide and maintain appropriate supplies and equipment. Oversees and ensures proper demand planning and replenishment to meet demand forecasts and balance the levels of product manpower and resources. Coordinates and maintains proper contact as needed to schedule delivery of materials supplies equipment and services. Operationalizes delivery and/or put away processes including stat orders. Responsible to ensue all process and procedures are in place involving the use of new equipment and supplies. Updates policies and procedures pertaining to department. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material and equipment shortages however caused. Operationalizes the product recall and substitution processes including communication as necessary. Develops establishes and provides reporting systems supporting Supply Chain operations. Manages the shipping and receiving functions for the system and oversees unloading and receiving processes including verification of package or bin contents by review of packing slips receiving slips or purchase orders and maintains appropriate records. Keeps abreast of new sources of supply to maximize supply distribution activities and practices. Leads internal and external auditors through processes and responds to inquiries and requests. Participate or leads various committees task forces and performance improvement teams as needed. Responsible for the training coaching motivation and development of staff to optimize their performance and professional growth. Ensures procedures are followed by all department staff. Responsible for acting in accordance with the principles of the Lifespan Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct. Participates in the development of short and long-term tactical and strategic goals of Supply Chain Provides input and assists in the development of site-specific capital and operating budgets and ensures variances are explained and resolved through review of financial results. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required including duties of subordinates to assist with workload. Other information: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration Operations Management Supply Chain or related field or ten years progressively more responsible related experience Mature and effective verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of applicable systems and Microsoft Offices products The ability to exercise considerable independent judgment in the performance of management duties. Supervisory and managerial abilities necessary to organize and direct the operations of a service department A high level of interpersonal skills to effectively represent Lifespan and Supply Chain in interaction with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization. Ability to comprehend and teach instruction manuals for operating checking and cleaning any necessary equipment. Mechanical ability to make minor adjustments on equipment and to recognize more complex problems. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of six yearsprogressively more responsible related experience preferably gained in a similarly diverse and operationally complex health care environment. INDEPENDENT ACTION: Performs and manages others independently within Lifespan and Supply Chain policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to leadership when clarification or guidance is required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervisory responsibility for up to 98 FTEs
