What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Aide (HHA) position at Lifesprk?
Responsibilities:
- Provide a helpful and caring attitude towards tenants, families, and other staff.
- Assist clients in getting ready for their daily, evening or night routines as delegated by licensed nurse and according to each client’s service plan.
- Assist clients with the following needs according to each client’s individualized service plan after being competency tested and evaluated by a registered nurse:
- Assist clients with self-administration of medication and/or medication administration
- Assist clients with body positioning or transferring of a client
- Assist clients with feeding if necessary
- Assist clients with bowel and bladder control, devices, and training programs
- Assist clients with therapeutic or passive range of motion exercises
- Assist clients with bathing
- Assist clients with all activities of daily living as needed
- Transports and/or escorts clients to dining room at meal times
- Recognize and report significant changes in a tenant's health status.
- Complete all job requirements according to established facility policies and procedures.
- Accurately document and chart as needed.
- Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
- Effectively communicate with tenants, families, and other staff to ensure the highest quality of care and customer service is provided.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- CNA preferred
- Experience in an Assisted Living community is preferred.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
- Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident’s families and employees.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
- Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
- Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
