Minimum Education Level
Bachelors Degree
Specifics: In behavioral science, social science or a closely related field.
Minimum Experience Level
One year
Specifics: Experience in a related human services field.
Substitution Note: A bachelor’s degree in any field and one year of human services related experience; An associate’s degree in behavioral science, social science, or a closely related field and two years of human services related experience; or three years of human services related experience.
Driver’s License
Oregon Driver's License required
Specifics: Ability to obtain within 30 days of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications: Bilingual and/or bicultural competencies for Latino population.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The required knowledge, skills and/or abilities are listed below:
Knowledge of:
- Applicable Oregon Administrative Rules.
- The public service system for developmental disabilities.
- Person centered practices necessary to effectively work with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Skill or ability to:
- Work with individuals who have complex needs including co-occurring disorders of intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health and/or substance use.
- Exercise sound judgment in appraising situations and making decisions regarding complex situations.
- Organize workload and manage time effectively.
- Complete case management core competencies within required timeframe.
- Act on personal initiative using sound judgment.
- Convey information, ideas, and facts both orally and in writing to supervisors, colleagues, and individuals, inside and outside the county, using language and a format the audience will best understand.
- Utilize computers and other technology to communicate in written and verbal forms (e.g., word processing, texts, emails, spreadsheets, department-specific software).
- Effectively relate well with others, including supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the county. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and working to maintain constructive working relationships.
- Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work. Show up to work on time, and follows instructions, policies, and procedures. Meet productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Job Conditions: Normal working hours, however, flexibility and additional hours are required to meet the demands of crisis intervention, protective services interventions, and other demands of the job. Position requires exposure to people with a wide variety of behaviors and may involve exposure to potentially dangerous situations.
Work Location: Lincoln County
Travel: Job duties require frequent travel to locations outside of the program office, including out of County, to other agencies, programs and to individual’s homes. Close coordination with the Oregon Office for Developmental Disability Services (ODDS) is required which may involve periodic travel out of county for ODDS sponsored meetings, and trainings.

- Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
- Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds.
