We're excited to add an AVP of Corporate Strategy to our Office of Corporate Strategy. This position provides leadership, direction and functional expertise on complex projects/initiatives for their assigned area(s) of Strategic Planning responsibility. They strategically develop, implement, & monitor key business initiatives & projects that support the medium & long term growth & profitability of their assigned business area. They will ensure business unit strategies & plans are executed consistent with Lincoln Financial Group's growth, financial & business objectives.
Our corporate Strategy office provides executive leadership and strategy in identifying, investigating and evaluating business investment opportunities, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances that align with, enhance, and support the organization's long-range profit and growth goals at LFG.
**What you'll be doing:**
**Strategic Vision**
Provides leadership and develops strategy & plans to achieve goals & key objectives to ensure successful growth & profitability for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Influences strategic direction and communicates effectively with senior & executive leadership regarding emerging trends and competing priorities.
Identifies & analyzes marketplace patterns that might be missed by others; considers organizational positioning, and leads team to capitalize on hidden opportunities in novel ways.
Collaborates with key stakeholders to formulate, prioritize, and sequence strategic program deliverables.
**Innovation and Relationships**
Coordinates input from leaders across their assigned business area to manage project portfolio and facilitate the integration & alignment of various projects with the overall business unit plan & strategy.
Collaborates with senior management to identify & resolve potential project conflicts, overlaps & integrations points; enables successful delivery of outcomes.
Creates and revises strategic plans & informal structures, builds allies & relationships across departments, and leverages allies to build consensus.
Collaborates with peers & leadership across their assigned business area as well as external organizations to secure project resources and drive plan creation.
Develops appropriate project measurements; monitors program/initiative progress and adherence to strategic intent.
Conducts periodic reviews of achievements/performance vs. strategic plans and directs project team & sponsors to keep projects on track to achieve stated objectives.
Regularly communicates project statuses to executive teams.
Ensures training and staff development on successful project management methods, concepts, and tools.
Identifies, defines, evaluates & resolves problems by seeking win/win solutions when business unit & enterprise priorities conflict and understands reasoning behind corporate initiatives.
**What we're looking for:**
_Must-haves:_
4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
10 Years strategic planning experience directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role
Intellectual curiosity and ability to rapidly learn new domain areas
Proficient in data analysis and presentation using Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint.
Corporate finance/investment analysis and/or consulting experience a plus
Deep experience a plus in one or more of Lincoln's businesses or functional areas: Group Protection, Retirement, Life, Annuity, Wealth Management, Distribution, Technology, Operations, Finance, Investments, Marketing
