What are the responsibilities and job description for the MAC Tech position at LINX VD?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform installation of low voltage projects for LINX clients including:
- Cabling rough-in and termination (all media types)
- Cabling, testing, and documentation
- Build-out of MDF and IDF (racks, patch panels, wire managers, network electronics, etc.)
- Installation, of low voltage cable systems
- Work with Cat 6 and 6a, fiber, MPO’s, coax, etc.
- Perform all cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, terminating, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local regulations
- Continually demonstrate excellent customer service skills by always creating a positive impression with all customers.
- Provide value to customers with difficult issues through use of good listening, communication, and problems solving skills
- Perform all work in a neat and quality manner
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to travel to job sites, Boulder, Westminster and possibly Ft. Collins once in a while.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have COVID vaccine & flu shot to work in hospital setting
- Must have an excellent attitude, willing to listen, learn and be a team player
- Able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder
- Must own low voltage tools, snips, cable strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
- Normal shift is 6am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday
- Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as needed
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Preferred Experience (not required)
- Prior experience with low voltage installations in commercial buildings; base knowledge of general construction; experience reading and understanding blueprints; prior experience with networking protocols, LAN/WAN concepts, and TCP/IP networking
- BICSI, Technician, or Installation Certification
- OSHA 10
- Powder Actuated Tools Certification
- Confined Space Certification
- CPR and First aid certified
- Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance
- Lift Certified
Pay Rate:
$22.00 - $26.00/hour
