General job description:
The Program Manager oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of Live Healthy Appalachia programs, including coordination of the CHIP program as well as cooking and physical activity programs. This team member will also assist in the planning and execution of Live Healthy Appalachia events.
Primary duties:
- Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) (Approximately 60% of the time):
- Perform community outreach for multiple Athens CHIP classes per fiscal year, including but not limited to marketing, presentations to interested groups, and acting as the first point of contact for potential participants.
- Assist CHIP facilitators with the coordination of pre-and post-CHIP health screens; collect and evaluate CHIP data.
Programmatic Support (Approximately 40% of the time):
- Schedule and coordinate adult programming with partner sites.
- Train and supervise volunteers to lead and assist with community-based classes and workshops.
- Assist Executive Director with securing program funding.
- Maintain program budgets and invoices.
- Represent LHA at local events and serve on related coalitions in the community.
- Assist with the planning and execution of LHA events.
- Fundraise for Live Healthy Appalachia.
- Additional duties as necessary to support the mission of the organization.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities needed:
Self-starter, independent, forward-thinker. Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written; public speaking skills; training and leadership skills; ability to coordinate multiple programs simultaneously; strong relationship building skills; strong organization skills; strong cooking skills.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. A background in nutrition or public health is preferred. Experience working with persons in a public or office setting. Valid Ohio driver’s license.
Compensation and time commitment:
The salary is $38,000. The work week will consist of 40 hours per week, including occasional evening and weekend work.
Employee evaluation and probation:
The manager will be evaluated annually by the Executive Director and will be subject to an initial probationary period of 120 days.
