OverviewLMI is seeking a skilled Project Analyst to support our Department of Defense Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPC) client at the client site in Alexandria, VA. Successful LMI project analysts will demonstrate competency as an Analyst with skills in data analysis, research, policy development, communications, and a basic understanding of the Department of Defense. The position is part of a team of collaborative sustainment professionals who deliver practical and effective solutions to assist our client’s oversight of CPC efforts within the broader maintenance enterprise of the Department of Defense. The majority of the work will be performed in concert with other LMI staff and government personnel located at the Pentagon, the Mark Center, and the Tysons location. Occasional travel to DoD research or sustainment locations will be required. Support the implementation of the DoD corrosion prevention and control strategic plan for reducing the effects of materiel degradation on DoD weapon systems, equipment, buildings, and infrastructure. Participate in the identification of applied research topics that have potential towards the reduction of the negative effects of corrosion and toward increased operational availability or improved safety of military weapon systems and facilities. Support the development of reports, policy recommendations and revisions, in coordination with OSD/Joint staff and the Military Departments. Support the development of Congressional responses, Department policies, and International data exchange agreements Coordinate input from multiple work teams to update the monthly status report Support team members in preparing trip reports and monitor their timely, accurate completion Revise project documents and standard operating procedures Conduct quality reviews of our team’s deliverables Track and analyze our team’s performance metrics Collaborate with Project Management Teams (including Program Directors, Program Managers, and Project Leaders) in the development, review, and updates of project and program budgets, forecasts, and estimate-at-completion (EAC) and associated reporting and analysis.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Strong interest in policy development and interpretation Ability to absorb new technical and policy knowledge without a lot of guidance Analytic, writing, and presentation skills Available for occasional travel Must be willing to relocate to the Northern Virginia/DC/Maryland metro area Profiiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders Strong analytical and problem solving This position will require an active security clearance at the SECRET level. You must be a US Citizen.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Management information systems, engineering, materials, chemistry, or related field preferred. Military experience in lieu of education is acceptable 2 years of experience preferred; Experience can be substituted for suitable masters or in pursuit of a masters Completion of the Association for Materials Protection and Performance, CPC Management course Completion of the Defense Acquisition Universtiy, Fundamentals of systems acquisition management course
