Description:Lockheed Martin is looking for a Guidance, Navigation and Controls Engineer to work on new systems. This program is part of our Tactical Strike Missiles portfolio at our Missiles and Fire Control location in Grand Prairie, TX, a world leader in missile systems.
The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer will be responsible for missile guidance and autopilot , trajectory analysis and shaping, HWIL integration, and trades. They will develop and improve algorithms in the areas of guidance, navigation, and controls. See the impact of your algorithms in digital simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, , and in the deployed systems protecting our warfighters. Other duties include:
• Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events.
• Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
• Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space.
• Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.

Basic Qualifications:
• Must have an active secret clearance with investigation in last 6 years.
• Must have experience with controls feedback and regulation, statistical processes, and strong analytical skills of large data sets.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form.
• Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms
• Demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C , Matlab, Python
• Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation
Desired Skills:
• Proficiency with C programming, Matlab, Python, Linux
• Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses
• Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems
• Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters (EKF)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 6 years
