Description:Do you enjoy working on a variety of projects where no two days are alike? Join the Training and Logistics Solutions (TLS) team for an exciting role developing, executing and measuring integrated communications to support business growth.

This position is an integral member of the TLS team leading strategic communications for the Training and Simulation Solutions (TSS) market segment. This portfolio of products and capabilities supports mission readiness for the United States and its allies around the world. The main priority for the role is land training captures across the United States, Australia, Canada and the UK (a corporate focus program).

Aligned to business objectives, this role will develop growth communications plans, lead the employee engagement program and serve as a communications counselor advising business leaders on effective communications strategies.

This communicator collaborates across functions (media relations, marketing, employee communications, multimedia, trade shows, etc.) to develop and execute integrated communications plans to support the key results of the business.

This is a diverse position affording the opportunity to touch every aspect of communications and work on big picture strategies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, execute and measure capture and keep sold communications campaigns, including developing competitor and market research to inform themes and key messages. Track progress in message penetration with key stakeholders and adjust as needed.
• Proactively identify, vet and secure external opportunities (e.g. media interviews, opportunities at industry events, community events, etc.) for subject matter experts. Develop scripts and talking points.
• Identify and develop stories and maintain an integrated content calendar on both internal and external channels, including web, video and social media.
• Partner across the corporation to share one Lockheed Martin stories from design through sustainment.
• Liaise with Business Development on high visibility marketing events.
• Develop an executive communications plan for the TSS vice president to connect with internal and external audiences.
• Increase employee knowledge and understanding of business direction and objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
• Prior experience planning, executing and measuring integrated communications strategies.
• Ability to collect and interpret metrics to influence strategic direction in communications plans.
• Exceptional writing, editing, video and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, executive leadership, reporters and military public affairs officers.
• Ability to plan, organize and support employee events, executive communications, marketing and media events.
• Strong understanding of AP style.
• Motivated self-starter who performs independently and works effectively under competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with new communications trends and industry techniques.
• Quick study with an attention to detail and a sense of urgency. Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Degree in Public Relations, Business Communications, Journalism or related field.
Desired Skills:
• An understanding of the aerospace and defense industry.
• Prior experience supporting business captures and growth in the United States and internationally.
• Prior experience working with reporters and military public affairs officers.
• Prior experience with crisis communications and labor relations communications.
