What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook position at Loco's Grill and Pub?
Purpose
To serve guest by providing them with a superior food product and quick, friendly and superior service.
Essential Job Functions
Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:
· Food preparation and portioning prior to service
· Following the prep list created by management
· Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves using FIFO so they can be organized and easily accessible
· Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
· Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat and etc.
· Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees and etc.
· Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
· Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
· Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
· Proper holding and storage of all foods
· Taking out trash
· Must follow the guidelines stated in the grooming standards policy
· Communicate openly, timely and honestly with subordinates, superiors and all others about plans, progress and problems.
· To always be approachable, coachable and have a good positive attitude
Non-Essential Job Functions
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
· Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
o Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
· Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
o Making observations
o Communicating with others
o Reading and writing
