Job Description
We are looking for a talented and self-motivated individual with an interest in the production side of the design process. An individual that is data driven and eager to learn. This individual will assist in product introductions and optimization of throughput and efficiency. You will work with associates on the line in a controlled manufacturing environment. Assist with time studies, line balancing, and optimization of production lines. Get hands on with prototype builds and provide constructive and calculated feedback on Design for Manufacturability. Identify and design assembly fixturing/jigs to assist with ergonomics and poka-yoke. Investigate and root cause non conformances to ensure gap coverage. This is an onsite position. The role starts in January, we are open to end dates depending on your Co-Op cycle.
Responsibilities:
- The position will support the Manufacturing Engineer in resolution daily production issues, implementation of manufacturing projects, and creation or revision of manufacturing work instructions
- Assist and contribute to the production build
- Root cause non-conformances
- Develop time estimates for sub-assemblies and final assemblies
- Develop and validate processes used in manufacturing
- Review and update existing manufacturing support processes and documentation
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop processes, tooling, assembly fixtures and procedures
- Additive manufacturing (3D printing)
- CAD design
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Must be self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Solid Works required
- Professional and positive communication skills
- GPA of 3.0 or greater
