What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leather Goods and Accessories Merchandise Manager position at Loewe?
It’s an exciting time to join LOEWE as we go through a period of rapid growth. As a key member of the Merchandising team in North America, the Handbags & Accessories Merchandise Manager is responsible for the managing of assortment, inventory, and purchases within designated categories. In close partnership with the Head of Merchandising, Americas and the Central Merchandising team, you will develop a key point of view on Handbags, Small Leather Goods, Belts and Soft Accessories strategies for the Americas. You will spearhead the ambitious growth in these categories for the market.
This position will report to the Director of Merchandising, Americas and will be based in New York.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive Handbags and Accessories business by maximizing sales and productivity, monitoring replenishment, and working with the Central Merchandising team on stock needs.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain team in key volume drivers to maximize Sale-to-Stock levels in all boutiques.
- Provide End-of-Season recaps, market prep, and compiling store feedback and needs.
- Survey competitive landscape. Keep company informed on competitors pricing, distribution, offer and key launches. Make recommendations to Director of Merchandising
- Analyze price differentials and competitor benchmarks for pricing strategies in conjunction with HQ
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal cross-functional business partners (Merchandising HQ, VM, Supply Chain, Retail, Marketing, Wholesale)
- Travel to Paris 4x a year for buying sessions and Madrid annually for Central meetings as needed. Bi-monthly domestic travel to visit store network, contingent on scheduling, is expected.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and expertise:
- At least 8 years relevant experience in a Merchandising capacity, with a minimum of 5 years experience in Leather Goods specifically
- An historical example of good tenure and brand loyalty.
- Comfortable meeting tight deadlines in a fast-growing environment with constantly changing priorities.
- Ability to identify problems, demonstrate use of initiative and implement appropriate solutions.
- Ability to work closely across global teams and local teams. Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Easily demonstrates passion and enthusiasm to foster team environment.
- Well organized and detail oriented. Excellent work ethic and ability to multi-task.
- Good knowledge of the North American market and current luxury fashion trends
- Strong PC Skills: Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Word. Prior experience with Microstrategy and CEGID is a plus.
- Strong sense of luxury & fashion.
- 40-50% travel domestic and international. Ability to travel adhoc at short notice internationally and domestically.

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,000-$125,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, there is a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks, and a retirement plan with employer contribution.
