The Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Manager oversees a team of Transition Specialists, guiding them in providing services to students across various educational settings and internship sites. They actively participate in school and internship activities alongside Transition Specialists, offering hands-on training and facilitating discussions to help students develop their skills and explore career interests. Serving as the primary liaison between LOGAN Community Resources and schools, they foster positive relationships with administrative staff. Moreover, they manage Transition Specialist billing, and aid in scheduling to meet billing targets while maintaining service quality.


Requirements

Essential Functions


  • Lead and support a team of Transition Specialists delivering Pre-ETS services to students in high schools, young adult programs, and internship sites.
  • Participate in activities at schools and internship sites alongside the Transition Specialist to ensure effective support and alignment with program goals.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions and discussions to ensure every student has the opportunity to expand their skills and explore employment interests.
  • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for school administrative staff, fostering positive relationships between LOGAN Community Resources and the school.
  • Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as requested to provide education on local resources available to students and collaborate with school staff to support students' transition goals.
  • Track and manage Transition Specialist billing to ensure accurate invoicing and financial management.
  • Assist Transition Specialist in creating daily schedules to meet billing expectations while upholding service quality standards.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities for Transition Specialists to enhance service delivery.
  • Deliver both formal and informal feedback to Transition Specialists, including disciplinary action when necessary, with the support of your supervisor and Human Resources.
  • Take the lead in interviewing and hiring a new Transition Specialist as needed. 
  • Support the training of both new and existing Transition Specialists in the field, guiding them to effectively assist and coach clients on the job. Ensure understanding of the importance of embracing a hands-on approach.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve program effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in pre-employment transition services to inform program enhancements.
  • Create a positive relationship with employers, creating inclusive and supportive work experience environments for individuals with disabilities. 
  • Complete and maintain all related documentation per LOGAN standards.

  • Ensure that all communication takes place in a professional manner, reflecting both respect for persons served and the LOGAN image.
  • Seek professional growth by keeping current on new philosophy, research, technology, strategies, etc. Keep informed of industry trends and best practices including participation in the Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (INARF) professional interest sessions.
  • Achieve and adhere to CARF accreditation standards.
  • Develop and monitor the department budget working toward financial targets. Ensure proper documentation of services and submittal of all billing information on a timely basis.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS


Education


  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education, is preferred for the position; however, candidates with significant experience in disability services or in an educational setting will also be considered.


Experience


  • Five or more years supporting individuals with disabilities in Pre-ETS services and/or in an educational setting. 
  • Demonstrated success as a Transition Specialist working with individuals with disabilities. 



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Good interpersonal and communication skills necessary to build relationships with community organizations, clients, funding source staff, and LOGAN staff.  
  • Ability to accurately interpret and consistently communicate policies and procedures.
  • Must have and/or develop working knowledge and proficiency in Person Centered Planning and Positive Behavior Supports.  
  • Oral/written communication skills to clearly and effectively express ideas.
  • Ability to plan and organize work activities/processes, use discretion and sound judgment and demonstrate initiative to ensure goals are achieved promptly.
  • Must provide own transportation, have valid driver’s license and driving record must meet insurability requirements.
  • Must maintain and provide documentation of auto insurance at limits set by LOGAN.
  • Must provide record of vehicle registration.
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification and must stay current on all other training as defined by state, accreditation body or organization guidelines.

Fulfilling the responsibilities of this job may result in contact with body fluids. LOGAN will provide training and offer Hepatitis B vaccination at no cost to the employee.
