LMI is seeking a highly-motivated Communications and Change Management Specialist for our Strategy and Organizational Management Group who is interested in supporting the design and implementation of complex and transformative change initiatives for a forward-leaning federal government organization. The consultant will directly support the organization’s Strategic Communications Lead in developing and implementing a wide variety of communication and change initiatives, projects, and programs that supports the organization’s strategy and priorities to include communications and change strategy, plan, and schedule; executive talking points and briefs; focus groups and panel discussions; virtual engagement events; and communications and outreach campaigns. Communication with the organization’s senior-level staff, and collaboration with a broad range of personnel is also required. This position may be located in Tysons, VA or at client location. Candidates must be able to pass background checks and/or obtain a security clearance if needed.

Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams to spearhead, gather, and translate ideas into actionable and successful communications campaigns and solutions that benefit and make an impact with both employee and external stakeholder groups
- Support the facilitation of communications planning and execution to ensure diverse stakeholder needs are heard and addressed, while guiding the team to effective decisions that leverage the expertise of communications strategists and creatives advising/supporting the team
- Provide communication support with managing cross-organizational internal and external communications channels, products, and partnerships.
- Provide communications services that assist to convey, promote, and disseminate information to stakeholders related to ongoing and future initiatives.
- Lead the development and production of reports, articles, presentations, scripts, talking points, testimony, web content, new (social) media content, and press releases in a clear and concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Convey, promote, and disseminate various materials related to the organization's priorities and initiatives.
- Plan and manage projects and events, as necessary.
- Support the development of and updates to Communications Plans and Change Management Plans.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Understanding of communications principles, methods, practices, and techniques, including skill in presenting ideas in speech and in written form to inform and persuade audiences at all levels of the organization
- Ability to design, develop, and deliver strategic communications through a variety of media
- Strong organizational skills—someone with the ability to work with little direction on complex tasks and competing demands
- Must be able to adapt to changing environments and be flexible with expectations to communication outreach tasks
- Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in multiple methods of visual communication
- Analytical approach to creating work product
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn and have an ability to work well within a team
- Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Project, Visio, etc.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Advanced degree from an accredited college or university, in business, public administration, human resources, communications, or a closely related field
- 2+ years of experience in the communications and outreach field, including strategic communications, marketing, and change management
- Experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans for complex federal organizations
- Experience with Employee Engagement
- Experience with Army
