Job Summary
Loisann’s Hope House is seeking a part-time Finance Manager to work 20-28hrs./week. Schedule has flexibility during business hours of 9am-5pm and may require additional hours during budget and audit preparation and delivery. The Finance Manager will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Financial Management
- Management of all accounting functions – accounts payable, accounts receivable, electronic banking, monthly reconciliations, and close month-end books.
- Manage all insurance policies, and fixed asset schedule, including monthly depreciation.
- Prepare quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Maintain the monthly balance sheet reconciliation activity, as well as following up on balances and adding in meaningful comments including: status of aged items, collection and payment timing, corrections to be made, etc.
- Credit Card Reconciliation - Collect credit card receipts daily, match to credit card statement, develop monthly spreadsheet, process for payment, and enter into QuickBooks.
- Record month-end prepaid amortization entries and prepare monthly settlement entries.
- Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis and maintain current and accurate QuickBooks data entry.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Prepare, review and distribute monthly reports, funder reports and others. Document and address issues requiring attention and/or further discussion.
- Complete annual budget and make recommendations to staff, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors
- Participate in monthly Finance Committee meetings and bi-monthly Board of Directors meetings, as needed.
Grant Management
- Prepare monthly grant expenditures and work with other departments to maintain ongoing grant monitoring forecasting.
- Support project funding proposals: assist with budgets, review proposals, provide supporting documents.
- Ensure complete documentation of funding awards.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Education/Experience
- BS Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 -5 years’ experience, preferably in nonprofit setting
Skills
- Strong computer skills (QuickBooks, Word, Excel, Outlook, web-based applications)
- Office equipment (phones, photocopier, postage meter)
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Strong time management, prioritization, planning and attention to detail
Abilities
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks, effectively prioritize and ensure follow-up
- Ability to work in a confidential manner, ensuring information is shared with internal and external individuals in an appropriate manner
- Ability to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor in all situations
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, see, hear, speak and be physically flexible; occasionally stoop, lift up to 50 lbs., carry, drive, bend, climb, squat, kneel, and push/pull.
- The noise level is usually moderately quiet in the office.
