POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Industrial Hygiene & Safety Professional 2 will operate under the direction of the Program Manager. The main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, recommend, and implement programs, policies, and procedures associated with the recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of potential health and safety hazards,
- Provide daily industrial hygiene and safety support to programmatic or facility organizations,
- Manage and administer one or more institutional health and safety programs or services,
- Provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors,
- Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise,
- Limited responsibility for making routine contacts on general matters outside of the immediate organization
- Contribute to the development of the organization’s goals and objectives.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Health, and Safety or Environmental Sciences and a minimum of five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to obtain a Q clearance is required,
- Fully functioning, seasoned/experienced professional with a full understanding of specialized area, plus working knowledge of other related fields,
- Leadership abilities, self-direction, decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution, and strong communication computer skills,
- Ability to determine the approach to solutions, plan schedule, and arrange own activities in accomplishing objectives,
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes drug screening, and inclusion in random drug testing program,
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience on DOE sites and programs,

Los Alamos, NM
On-site shift work is required for this position.
