Job Posting for Part-time Floater at Look What I Can Do Learning Center / NurtureSchool
We are looking for entry-level (high school/college students) to well-knowledgeable (well experience) floaters to assist in either mornings, mid-day or later afternoons in providing care and engaging activities to small children ages 0-3 years old. A floater must have a great love and patience for children while accepting the responsibilities of learning under a lead teacher for the expectations of the classroom environment. The desire in the ability to engage children and earn their trust and attention through fun, engaging activities while maintaining supervision at all times is necessary. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

Responsibilities
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve conflicts by using conscious discipline
Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
Track children’s progress and report to parents
Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
Collaborate with other educators
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Maintain implementation of Better Beginnings Standards in the classroom
Requirements/Incentives:
No experience required.
Some understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as mediator between children
Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
Ability to communicate with teacher and assist in carrying out lesson plans
Ability to follow a classroom schedule and maintain a clean and safe environment
Certification in child CPR (We can provide this.)
At least 18-years old while in High School or a High School Diploma or GED is required.
Criminal, FBI and Child Maltreatment background checks are performed and required.

Adult to child ratios per classroom are 1:12, at max daily capacity. Often times, ratios are less.

Hours of availability should range between 6am to 6pm Monday through Friday as we are closed on weekends.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 32 per week
