Job Title : Rail Equipment Maintenance Operator

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE :

In this field-based position, we are looking for people with technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or machine operations.

The Rail Equipment Maintenance Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently supporting crew members with the operation and maintenance of Loram’s maintenance machines, equipment, and on track vehicles in accordance with guidelines set forth by the FRA, our customers, and Loram’s rules and standard operating practices.
New Hire Training Incentive : $1,000 at 90 days & $1,500 at 6 months (dependent on job performance)
PAY : $20.00 PER HOUR Generous Over-Time
Time and a half is paid after 40 hours per week. Typical work hours are up to 12 hours per day and up to 72 hours per week.
Hours may be longer or shorter depending on operational needs. Room for advancement : 90% of Rail Equipment Maintenance Operators who are employed with the company for 2 years receive a promotion in that time and 50% will have received at least 2 promotions.

Per diem is not offered. Employees are responsible for all personal expenses including, but not limited to food, phone and laundry.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must be able to travel 100% of the time, including international, using any method of transportation
- Must be able to perform physically strenuous work outdoors in all types of weather
- Work will require extended time away from home
- Must be available to work irregular hours, including holidays, weekends, days and nights for long periods of time
- Can tolerate variable and sometimes extreme physical conditions during visits or inspections of company equipment in a railroad environment
- Ability to apply high levels of cognitive, analytical, retention and reasoning skills
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and motor vehicle record
- Once a new hire, there is an expectation for a successful completion of Loram’s new hire training class and passing a physical, drug and alcohol screen
- Must be able to speak English fluently
- Must have a current valid driver’s license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience : 1 years demonstrated technical skills; mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and / or machine operations
