The Acute Care Nurse Manager executes a position responsibility that demonstrates leadership, experience, and ingenious approaches to management of complex patient care. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management of patient care, human, fiscal and material resources, and the total environment of the unit on a twenty-four-hour basis. This Nurse Manager will report directly to the Associate Chief Nurse, Acute Care, Patient Care Services. The major duties and responsibilities for the incumbent include, but are not limited to the following:
· Facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and other team members.
· Promotes a climate for effective performance while allocating available resources to promote safe, efficient, effective, and quality nursing/patient care.
· Observes and evaluates the quality of nursing care provided including interdisciplinary patient rounds, reviewing nursing documentation in clinical records, and collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data related to the delivery of patient care.
· Assures the compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards of practice and implementation of required actions to meet Performance Measures.
· Provides leadership in the application of the nursing process to patient care, organizational processes and systems, and improves outcomes at the program or service level.
· Initiates an educational plan to meet changing program or service needs for self and staff.
· Provides leadership in identifying and addressing ethical issues with patients and staff, including initiating and participating in ethical consultations.
· Initiates interdisciplinary projects to improve organizational performance.
· Implements an educational plan to meet changing programs or service needs for self and others.
· Maintains knowledge of current techniques, trends and professional issues.
· Coaches colleagues in team building.
· Contributes to the strategic planning process, day-to-day operations, and attainment of goals of the organization.
· Ability to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients.

Pay: $85,857.00 - $128,239.00 per year
