Job Description

Job Summary:

Customer Service Associate (CSA) Front-End – primary function is to process customer sales and returns, handle internet and pick-up orders, look up merchandise for price matches, and respond to customer inquiries over the phone and in-person.

Customer Service Associate (CSA) Sales Floor – primary function is to assist customers with all their shopping needs. This includes greeting and qualifying customers, providing product and project information and recommendations, answering questions, helping to locate and select merchandise, and facilitating the check-out and loading process.

Customer Service Associate (CSA) Loader – primary function is to help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise. This person responds to requests for assistance throughout the store, supports checkout functions, prepares quick-load items, replenishes shelf stock, and uses power equipment as needed.

Individuals applying for Seasonal Associate may be considered for one of these roles, depending on hiring needs. Specific responsibilities for each individual Seasonal role are detailed below. These descriptions are not exhaustive and Seasonal Associates are responsible for completing other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

  • Hourly Part Time: Generally scheduled up to 25 hours per week, respectively; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store.
  • Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.
  • Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advanced notification and approval by supervisor.

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Move throughout all areas of the store; sales floor, receiving, register areas, lawn and garden, including the outside perimeter of the store with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
  • Stand, sit, and/or walk continuously with or without reasonable accommodation and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
  • Bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb (ladders, stairs), balance, and/or crouch on a daily basis to accomplish work activities.
  • day and also lifts 51-75 pounds without assistance daily and 76-100 pounds with assistance daily.
  • CSA-Front End: Lifts up to 25 pounds without assistance; may lift up to 30 pounds with or without assistance.
  • CSA-Sales Floor: Lifts up to 25 pounds without assistance; may lift up to 40 pounds with or without assistance.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • CSAs (Loader, Front-End, and Sales Floor) – 6 months of experience using a computer, including: inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information AND 6 months of experience using a handheld device (e.g., mobile phone, LRT gun, palm pilot, tablet, iPod) to enter, access, and output information.
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Preferred Qualifications:

  • experience, performing tasks such as: identifying and selling products based on customer needs; explaining warranties, product features, and benefits; assisting customers in locating products; building customer relationships; identifying and resolving customer issues; zone recovery; and housekeeping.
