Recovery Coach Supervisor
A Recovery Coach serves as a personal guide and mentor to help individuals (recoverees) identify and navigate their individualized recovery journey and to live a self-directed life.
The Recovery Coach Supervisor will be a person who is grounded in peer-assisted recovery. This is a non-clinical, strength-based peer to peer support service in which the invaluable expertise that is gained from lived experience is drawn upon to inspire peers toward sustainable recovery.
As a Recovery Coach Supervisor, you will promote positive self-identity by drawing on the strengths and resilience of the recoverees you work with, and the recovery coaches you supervise.
Job Details:
Lowell House is seeking a Recovery Coach Supervisor to provide supervision, training, and support to our expanding Recovery Coach Program. The RC Supervisor will assist LHI Recovery Coaches in cultivating and maintaining an extensive network of community resources. The RC supervisor will maintain a small recoveree caseload as well as provide support to coaches who work with their own recoverees.
Reports to: Richard Hollett, Division Director of Recovery Support Services The Recovery Coach Supervisor is a 40 hour/week position with excellent benefits and pay. The work hours and days will be determined at hire and be flexible to meet the employee and the program needs.
Job Responsibilities: • Maintain a minimal recoveree caseload • Recruit, hire and train new recovery coaches • Process referrals • Oversee recovery coach documentation • Work with LHI’s billing team to Submit insurance authorizations and ensure accurate records for coverage • Collaborate with community partners and providers to promote recovery and ways to best meet the needs of those seeking to initiate or sustain recovery • Attend trainings and supervision as required by Supervisor Competencies: • Possesses Motivational Interviewing skills • Able to manage one’s own “stuff” while working with recoverees and supervisees. • Models recovery, including upholding clear and healthy boundaries • Has strong organizational skills with attention to detail. • Demonstrates an ability to actively listen and effectively respond to questions and concerns of staff, recoverees, and other stakeholders. • Practices discretion in all aspects of the job. • Maintains current knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a recovery coach and models healthy boundaries and role clarity • Self-starter able to self-direct and appropriately manage time and tasks • Possesses a desire to learn and grow within the organization. • Familiarity with the community based medical, behavioral health, and substance use resources and addiction treatment providers and systems in and around greater Lowell is a significant plus.
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
Qualifications: • Has personal lived experience in recovery • Possesses a High school diploma or equivalent • Possesses CARC or is in the process of certification • Communicates clearly • Demonstrates cultural competency • Possess a thorough understanding of the Peer Model and CCAR’s Recovery Coach Model and be able to apply this knowledge in different settings. • Understands and supports multiple pathways of recovery. • Possesses the ability to work positively with co-workers and a diverse client base • Possesses proficient organizational, computer, and supervisory skills.
