JOB SUMMARY
The LPGA seeks a Director, Retail Merchandise who is for driving online and onsite retail sales of licensed products. They will work closely with the VP, Marketing to drive revenue across the portfolio. The Director will be the LPGA’s centralized point of contact on merchandise operations.
The ideal candidate is someone with prior experience in licensing and who deeply understands retail event merchandising. The ideal candidate will recognize and adapt to the environment, bringing new ideas and adapting to what the LPGA’s retail presence can be. It is also expected that the candidate will work to install better workflow processes as the LPGA’s retail and licensing business continues to grow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a comprehensive merchandising strategy in partnership with VP, Marketing.
- Create and oversee retail assortments with attention to trends, margins, and turnover rates in partnership with our Legends team.
- Develop impactful capsule collections that have marketability and community focus and build brand awareness.
- Establish and maintain licensing agreements with third-party vendors, manufacturers, and retailers.
- Innovate programs and strategies to increase licensing revenues and support overall commitment to growing brand affinity.
- Oversee and enhance e-commerce and onsite event merchandising.
- Collaborate with marketing and fan engagement to create compelling merchandise-driven initiatives.
- Forecast demand and manage inventory levels to avoid overstock or shortages.
- Implement inventory control measures and track merchandise sales and performance.
- Develop strategies to liquidate excess inventory efficiently.
- Monitor monthly and annual sales performance, develop KPIs, and benchmarking across Merchandise sales efforts.
- Evaluate trends, innovations and new partnership opportunities and business enhancement solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
- 8 years of progressive experience in merchandising, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of merchandise trends, materials, and product development.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and financial acumen.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Proven track record of successful merchandising strategy implementation and achieving financial targets.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor and interpret sales data.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and adapt to a constantly evolving market.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
