Description

 With a thorough understanding of all product benefits and services LSS can offer to customers, strong negotiating skills and exceptional customer service, the Construction Sales Representative will cultivate and build long term key customer relationships, identify business opportunities and negotiate and close business deals. This role collaborates with the team to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue in alignment with LS Systems long term strategic goals and manage and grow relationships within the commercial construction market to expand LSS clientele.


Client Development/Management:

  • Utilize existing electrical and general contractor contacts to offer all LSS service offers
  • Qualify potential buyers by scheduling sales calls, following up on leads and producing weekly reports of progress.
  • Determine customers’ needs and develop a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of company service offerings.
  • Conduct surveys as needed to support the development of accurate proposals.
  • Attend trade groups, conferences, trade shows, etc. in order to develop new clients/leads.
  • Work within the LSS estimating team to conduct thorough site surveys to generate proposals.
  • Develop and maintain a proposal backlog that will ensue meeting sales goals.


Customer Relationships:

  • Utilize existing relationships with electrical and general contractors to provide and sell all LSS services.
  • Drive momentum and proactively advance the purchase decision by assessing customer readiness to proceed at each state of  the buying process and setting clear next steps.
  • Develop a positive ongoing relationship with new customer to ensure LSS is meeting their requirements and ensure long term customer loyalty.
  • Manage existing relationships as well as build new relationships with electrical and general contractors for future business opportunities.
  • Develop and manage new and existing relationships through periodic visits, outings, dinners, lunches, etc.


  Teamwork:

  •  Work within LSS structured estimating team to produce new sales opportunities and ensure sales quotas are being met.
  •  Collaborate with member of LSS sales team as needed.
  •  Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

 The successful candidate will have a background in business to business sales with experience in a hunting-based sales role. A background in selling or estimating in the construction or electrical contractor industry is strongly desired. Must be independent and self-motivated to meet sales goals with a solid history of decision making, taking accountability, demonstrated competitive spirit and ability to overcome obstacles to success. 

  • BA or BS in business related discipline, or equivalent experience preferred. High school diploma required
  • 1 year of successful experience in outside sales, meeting and exceeding sales quotas to electrical contractors, general contractors, commercial businesses
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape with experience selling commercial fire alarm, electronic security, nurse call systems strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Fire and Security or other major industries a plus
  • Strong computer skills including advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Google apps for business required. Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing in a pleasant, professional and effective manner.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Able to operate a wide variety of office equipment (i.e. fax machine, copier, etc.)
  • Ability to oversee proposal planning and administration of contracts and contract database.
  • Ability to build customer business with additional services provided by the company.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong time management skills and work ethic
  • Ability problem-solve and adapt to change in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Customer service mindset and high interpersonal savvy.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with a minimum of guidance and oversight.
  • Must have attention to detail and excellent communication skills and follow through.
  • Must have a positive attitude, ability to learn quickly, and able to work under pressure.
