What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator/Machinist position at LSDP Manufacturing?

Due to our current position in the marketplace and the high demand, we are looking for a dedicated CNC Machinist (Mill and/or Lathe) who will bring energy and skill to the table.
Working knowledge of G-codes and Haas and/or Fanuc controls strongly preferred.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Properly set up machines to required specifications. Determine, set, and adjust machine speeds, feeds, and depth of cut. Select, mount, and fasten cutting tools for specified finish and best performance consistent with the type of material being machined.
- Operating multiple CNC machines if needed.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Supports daily manufacturing work schedules, meeting all goals of quality, delivery, and safety.
- Maintain a clean work environment including daily cleaning of floors, tooling, and machinery. This is always indicative of a person’s drive and willingness to work within the team to ensure the shop looks as great as the components we produce.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Debur finished parts – both parts in production & finished parts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understand constant surface footage.
- Understand and edit programs on machines.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Attention to detail, able to hold tight tolerances (0.0005”).
- Focus on safety.
- Ability to supervise multiple machine processes at a time while setting up or running other machines.
- Understand and properly use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, travel indicators, plug and ring gauges.
- Self-motivated with ability to work well with peers.
- Multi-task, work with a sense of urgency, meet tight deadlines, and work overtime as required.
- Programming is not required but programming knowledge is helpful.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and does so with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50lbs
Must be willing to work Saturdays as needed.
Must have basic tools (6” & 12” calipers, allen wrenches, etc.)
Position is Full-Time, Monday-Friday 6:30AM-5:00PM, with occasional Saturday shifts.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
