Role Purpose Statement
Administrative position reporting into our Ramp Safety Supervisor and Transportation Manager. Primary responsibility is to monitor all drivers to ensure they are following all Ramp Safety operating procedures and maintaining safety compliance standards. Provide feedback to the employee and department managers. In addition, to conducting required training on all SOP's for drivers.
Main Accountabilities
- Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers
- Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files
- Ensure all NY State license plates for company vehicles are current
- Coordinate vehicle inspection and preventive maintenance schedules with the Market Fleet Maintenance Dept.
- Liaison between Market Security department for processing of all Port Authority/Customs identifications
- Maintain all log books
- Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures
- Attend meetings as needed (i.e. Customer Service Meetings)
- Assist the Safety Manager as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of Driver or Ramp Safety Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
- Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish)
- Must be flexible to adjust your shift as needed as we are a 24 hour operation
- Familiar with Sky Chefs programs (i.e. ramp safety SOP) a plus
