HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):
The Logistics Coordinator will work directly with purchasing and installation managers to arrange transportation and plan orders for off-site installation jobs. Will also maintain data and routes for outbound shipments and deliveries from warehouse stock coordinating with Chemical Delivery and Warehouse Managers. Will maintain data and manage inbound freight to all Reliable Plus warehouses and transfers to and from warehouses supporting Main “Hub” and satellite “Spoke” warehouses. The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for planning orders, arranging transportation, maintaining transportation contacts, and communicating regularly with customers on orders that require delivery or direct shipments.
- Prioritize and communicate intercompany transfer needs
- Communicate regularly with customers
- Prioritize and delegate outbound shipping, internal or external resources
- Manage and maintain routes for outbound freight
- Manage vendors and inbound freight
- Coordinate timely arrival of all shipments to job sites
- Use of transportation module to plan orders
- Print sales order pick lists
- Schedule and confirm transportation arrangements
- Communicate with carriers & vendors
- Coordinate loads to ensure economical spend
- Maintain sales order comments
- Maintain shipping related work instructions
- Perform testing in development for shipping enhancements
- Adhere to the company’s safety standards
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience/Training:
- Minimum of 2 years shipping experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone or email with customers and suppliers
- Experience using a computerized Warehouse Management System
- Experience with scanned pick and shipment preparation
- Knowledge of LTL shipment routing and classification of freight
- Must have good command of the English language and the ability to read and understand written instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in order to accurately complete job tasks
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements
- Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished written or orally in English
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Computer proficiency utilizing ERP system and software including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Forklift / inventory experience a plus
