This results oriented leader with the desire to achieve success through people, quality and hospitality is responsible for the overall operation for their location and ensuring the integrity of Lucky Finn Cafe. Key areas of responsibility include team performance, increased sales and profitability, effective cost controls, development, training and retention of staff and other members of leadership.
The General Manager is responsible for the following:
- establishes guest service and satisfaction as a priority through personal example
- develops, communicates and achieves forecasts and realistic budgets, goals and objectives
- conducts employee orientations and maintains accurate training records
- recruits, retains, trains and develops an optimum number of staff who are enthusiastically dedicated to delivering the highest level of hospitality to the guest
- responds to guest complaints and resolves them in a way that ensures the guest will return again quickly and ensures that every guest leaves happy
- drives and monitors sound community involvement programs
- ensures the profitability of restaurant operations by operating within cost of goods and labor productivity guidelines while providing quality food and exceptional service
- controls other direct operating expenses such as utilities, smallwares, etc., to minimize expense without adversely affecting operations
- manages others work safely by being alert and taking action regarding safety hazards
- ensures that all restaurant paperwork is completed accurately and on a timely basis including but not limited to: scheduling of all café staff, ordering all food & beverage, daily communication sheets, payroll, purchase orders, bank deposits, employment-related forms, etc.
- Continual contribution to the brand based upon observations from guests, self, and employees to improve our overall product and inspire our growth.
Qualifications:
- preferred 2-3 years of café, casual or full-service restaurant experience along with experience in a leadership capacity as a salaried team member (i.e., manager, assistant general manager).
- prior high-volume management experience required
- dependable, detail-obsessed, and open to constructive feedback
- exceptional communication skills—written and verbal (1:1 and in a group setting)
- ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently life up to 25 lbs. without assistance and 50 lbs. with assistance
- ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
- Ability to work 50-55 hours per week on average, with weekend & holiday availability.
