What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard position at Lutheran Home?
The Lutheran Home is looking for a Security Guard to join our team in creating a safe community for our residents to enjoy vibrant living and care at every age. In this career, you will work to ensure the protection of our campus by patrolling on foot and driving the property.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
- Lock doors and gates of entrances and exits to secure buildings.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Respond to medical emergencies by obtaining assistance from nursing staff.
- Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information.
- Transport residents on the van as needed.
This position is parttime allowing for flexibility of working days on our evening shift from 3:00pm to 11:00pm.
Education, Experience:
- Class E Chauffer’s License with no high-risk insurance.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CPR certified (or become certified within 30 days of employment).
