GENERAL FUNCTION
The Income Tax Specialist will have a diverse and unique position within the tax department. This role will focus on a balanced combination of multiple disciplines consisting of global tax planning, tax compliance, transfer pricing, tax technology and the development / maintenance of robotics.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Global Tax planning (focus on Asia and U.S.) and Transfer Pricing
- Assist with redesign of the U.S. and Asia transfer pricing policies and product flows, including updating business flow modelling and documentation
- Assist with annual roll-forward of centralized transfer pricing documentation template, including gathering information from internal and external sources
- Assist with year-end review of transfer pricing by external auditors
- Prepare Country-by Country Report and assist with global BEPS related projects
- Assist with benchmarking studies and update of comparable data for annual transfer pricing documentation
- Assist with global tax planning with an emphasis in the Asia region, specifically China and Singapore
- Assist in research required for proposed transactions to minimize risk
- Assist in gathering and analyzing data related to tax savings opportunities
- Technology
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Robotics or automation of current procedures - in the pursuit of efficiencies for tax department
- Ability to analyze financial data and reconcile information
- Pull data from various systems to summarize tax position and workpapers for tax returns
- Audits
- Gather, coordinate and analyze information for defense of state income tax audits and to mitigate tax risks
- Prepare correspondence for federal and state tax authorities in response to notices and questionnaires
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers such as financial and government auditors
- Corporate income taxes
- Prepares federal and state income tax corporate returns including combined / consolidated filings and partnership returns in Corptax
- Prepare forms related to United States reporting of international operations such as 5471, 5472, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, and Foreign Tax Credit
- Provides analytical support for the preparation of the Company’s income tax provision and effective tax rate computations in ONESOURCE Tax Provision
- Prepares quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions
- Ability to identify and resolve tax issues
- Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in federal and state income tax compliance
- Research various tax issues for multiple jurisdictions and disciplines
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- 3 Years’ Experience in public accounting or private industry working primarily in corporate tax (consolidated and multi-state returns) and flow-thru entities
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Ability to work with cross functional teams and proactively seek solutions
- Ability to analyze data to use technology in order to gain efficiencies
- Ability to work independently
- Self-Motivated, business savvy, integrity and team player
- Research and Analytical skills a must
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
- Tax Software Skills: Corptax and ONESOURCE Tax Provision (or similar)
- Additional Software Skills: SAP, Oracle, OBIEE, Adobe, Hyperion
