M.C. Dean, Inc., is seeking an Engineering Leader with a proven track record in building and leading a high-performance engineering team to deliver complex electrical and specialty system solutions. Individual must possess specialized experience in the design and implementation of medium voltage and low voltage power distribution for normal, critical and back-up power systems including advanced protective relaying and controls. An industry recognized expert in electrical systems with experience in multi-discipline project delivery.
Knowledge of the complete project cycle from concept through final acceptance; this includes experience in design, estimating, equipment selection, construction installation methods and commissioning. Demonstrated experience in ramping up major projects to include recruiting, managing engineering and design resources to maximize utilization, seamless project execution, while adhering to schedule and budget requirements.
Client Development
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical and power systems with written and oral command that establishes technical gravitas in a sophisticated customer environment
- Leads technical requirements for key proposal efforts and engineering budget preparation in preparation of project implementation
Technical
- Ensures technical and engineering engagement through the complete Project Value Delivery Stream (Engineer, Design for Fabrication, Fabricate and assemble off-site, pre-test, deliver to site, install and commission) on all key projects
- Stays abreast of emerging technologies and leads implementation of engineering and design tools
- Industry knowledge of manufacturers and products and their application to include distributions equipment, back-up power generation, UPS, battery back-up, lighting and lighting controls
- Experience with mission critical facility design is a plus
- Fluent in the interpretation of NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE Standards, UFC and other applicable codes relevant to facility and plant design
Innovation & Solutions
- Leads engineering teams in developing solutions to customers most complex electrical and power systems problems
- Leads innovation and proof of concept efforts in the development of new products and solutions
- Identifies and sponsors strategic technical and engineering initiatives consistent with corporate goals
Develop People
- Builds and develops engineering team with multiple discipline capabilities and ensures that these engineering capabilities are aligned with M.C. Dean Enterprise Competitive Strategic Plan
- Leader in engineering talent acquisition, coaching, and professional development
- Responsible for organizational health and engagement of engineering and design staff
Develop Standards and Process Leadership
- Establishes and maintains corporate engineering and design and leads technical audits to ensure compliance
- Responsible for developing best in class engineering practices and setting technical benchmarks
Production & Delivery
- Proven track record in leading diverse engineering teams on multiple projects in volume to support business plan
- Understanding of leading teams in producing complete and accurate deliverables that meet client requirements and enhance fabrication, assembly, field installation and commissioning activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in leading high performance engineering teams responsible for delivering large volume deliverables in electrical and power systems
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree a plus
- Registered Professional Engineer License
- Current knowledge of latest design tools, modeling software and specialized applications to deliver best in class engineering solutions and deliverables
- Eligible to receive a Top Secret Security Clearance
