Aids and facilitates the human resource processes at two business locations (Detroit Lakes, MN and Medina, NY). Under close supervision, provides general HR assistance to business unit or corporate functional area which may include recruiting, selection and staffing, employment and personnel documentation, job evaluation, compensation, and benefits. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. Submit online investigation requests and assist with new-employee background checks. Responsible for preparing payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommend corrective action. Assists with processing of disciplinary and terminations actions. Assists with the preparation of the performance review process. Assists with recruitment and interview process. Track status of candidates in HRIS and respond with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process. Assists or prepare correspondence as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. At least 3 years related experience required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
