Emergency Management Healthcare Workers play a crucial role in providing medical care and support during disasters and emergencies. This role involves delivering urgent healthcare services, supporting public health initiatives, and coordinating with other emergency response teams to ensure comprehensive medical care for affected populations where you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of guests and staff. As a Temperature Screener, you will be responsible for conducting temperature screenings and health assessments to maintain a secure environment for all visitors, and as a Nurse in an emergency disaster your services are crucial in providing urgent medical care, supporting public health efforts, and collaborating with emergency response teams.
**Temperature Screeners Responsibilities:**
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 hr
- Use non-contact thermometers to take and record temperatures of individuals at designated screening points.
- Identify individuals with elevated temperatures and refer them for further medical evaluation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of temperature-taking equipment.
- Provide immediate medical care and treatment, including triage, first aid, wound care, and medication administration.
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, perform necessary medical procedures, and provide life-saving interventions.
- Stabilize patients and prepare them for transport to medical facilities if necessary.
- Perform health assessments to identify any potential health risks.
- Communicate effectively with guests regarding screening procedures and results.
- Maintain accurate records of temperature readings and visitor information.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient screening processes.
- Assist with guest services and provide information as needed.
**Qualifications (Temperature Screener):**
- Basic training in temperature-taking procedures and infection control is required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in using non-contact thermometers or other screening devices is a plus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of collected data.
- Proficiency in using temperature-taking equipment.
**Nurse Responsibilities:**
Pay $18.00-$35.00 hr
- Perform triage to prioritize and assess the severity of patients' conditions.
- Provide first aid, wound care, and emergency medical treatment to stabilize patients.
- Administer medications and perform necessary medical procedures.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Document patients' medical histories and current health statuses.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, emergency responders, and agencies.
- Participate in planning and strategy meetings to align healthcare activities with overall emergency response efforts.
- Ensure effective communication and information sharing among all stakeholders.
**Qualifications (Nurse):****
- Current, valid nursing license (RN or LPN) in the state of practice.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory.
- Ability to provide clear instructions and support to patients and their families during stressful situations.
Proven experience in emergency medicine, disaster response, or public health is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience.
